First Home Buyers Grant Perth WA
The first home owners grant was increased in 2008 to assist the troubled property market, and improve housing affordability for first homebuyers. WA has experienced rising property prices although the market is starting to slow down slightly due to global economic factors.
The boost to the grant is due to end on 31 December 2009. The original first home owners grant of $7,000 is still available to eligible first home buyers after this date. This grant is available for people buying an established home or building a brand new home.
The Federal Government increased the grant to boost the property market during tough economic times but is now winding the grant back to the original $7,000. The grant is designed to help first home buyer onto the property ladder.
First Home Owners Grant WA
This is a government grant, in the form of a one-off payment which is given to all Australian Permanent Residents when buying a first home.
Requirements: • You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident who has never owned property in this country • You must have lived in Australia for at least six months; • You must be over 18-years old • You must live in the property for six of the twelve months following purchase.
The first homebuyer grant offers a great financial incentive to buy your own property, and the boost to the grant has already prompted large numbers of first homebuyers to take the plunge. However, anyone considering purchasing property should talk to a qualified mortgage broker to see how they can claim and make the most of the grant.
